213. Fregatten Shtandart

Experience the 18th century frigate Shtandart
Step aboard the unique Russian frigate Shtandart. The ship is an accurate replica of a man-o-war from the 18th century, the time of Tordenskiold. When Shtandart was launched in 1703, it was a modern weapon of war. Henrik Wessel, the brother of Tordenskiold, was commander of the vessel. Meet the sailors and help them load shot, powder and provisions. See them load cannon and hoist sails. The captain talks about the history of the ship, and what it’s like to run a floating museum.
